How To Setup MSN Email In Outlook

MSN email is an internet service offered by the software giant Microsoft for their clients. The MSN service can be used to access emails via the web-based Internet portal.
You can utilize Microsoft Outlook to send and receive the emails from your different email accounts, including your MSN account. By doing so, you will be able to enjoy all the features of the MSN Network, as well as the features of Microsoft Outlook. The MSN network is based on the POP3 protocol. POP3 is a standard internet protocol used by the email clients to receive and send emails.
The POP3 service has the provision to incorporate MSN service with the Microsoft Outlook service. POP3 lets the users configure Microsoft Outlook service to pull and send emails using the internet service. Even though there are many versions of Microsoft Outlook and MSN, their set up procedures are more or less the same.

Outlook Email Setup Instructions
  • Go to the Start menu and click Microsoft Outlook 2007 to launch the program.
  • From the Microsoft Outlook 2007 toolbar select the Tools option. 
  • From the Tools popup menu, click on the option Account Settings. 
  • This will bring up the Account Settings window.
  • Hover the mouse through the E-mail tab in the new window and click the New option. 
  • You will now get the Add New E-mail Account window on your computer screen.
  • Select the checkbox for Manually configure server settings or additional server types, and press the Next button.
  • Select the option, Internet E-mail. Proceed to the next window by clicking on the Next button.
  • You will be asked to enter your full name, email address, incoming mail server, account type, user name and password in the Internet E-mail settings page. 
  • Set pop3.email.msn.com as your incoming mail server.
  • Make sure that you set smtp.email.msn.com as your outgoing mail server.
  • Select MSN account name as your user name. You can use the MSN password as your password for setting up MSN Email in Outlook. Set your account type as POP3.
  • Click on the option Test Account Settings to check for any errors. If no errors are reported, click the Next button to go forward. Keep going forward until you come across the Finish option.
  • Exit the Set Up option and start sending e-mails to your dear and near ones.
