Eudora is an email client that is used on the Microsoft Windows and the Apple Macintosh operating systems. Microsoft Outlook is an email application that also serves as a personal information manager for the users. In some cases, you would wish to introduce all your Eudora mailboxes or folders into the Microsoft Outlook. This could be due to the following reasons.
- If you import all of your Eudora mailboxes and folders, you may quickly reach your quota on the Hawkmail server.
- However, you would be able to launch Eudora and access your old messages. If you wish to, you can also forward individual messages to your Hawkmail account.
- Not all messages come across cleanly in your inbox.
- mbx - mailbox files
- .toc - table of contents files
- nndbase.txt - nickname file
- fol folders - Eudora folders containing mailboxes
- descmap.pce - keeps track of your mailbox and folder list
- In the first step, open Microsoft Outlook application in the computer. Open Microsoft Office and click on the Outlook shortcut.
- Now, make sure that you have closed all the folders in the folder tree. You should select the File | Import and Export option.
- In the next step, select the Import Internet Mail and Addresses option and click on the Next option.
- Now, select Eudora 2.x, 3.x, 4.x.
- Check the data you wish to import i.e. Import Address Book and/or Import Mail and click Next, and then Finish.
- The fact is that even if you have multiple Eudora address books, all addresses would appear together in your Outlook Contacts folder.
- This simply means that the messages from your Eudora in mailbox would appear in your Outlook Inbox folder. Similarly, messages from your Eudora Out mailbox would appear in your Outlook Sent Items folder.
