  • Press the Windows logo and the R button in the keyword simultaneously to open the Run window and type in regedit in the box and press the Enter button. This opens the Registry Editor window.
  • Navigate to the location HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE> Software Policies> Microsoft> Internet Explorer> Infodelivery> Restrictions from the folder tree found in the left hand side of the Registry Editor window. If the Internet Explorer folder is not found under the Microsoft folder, then follow the steps given below, else skip steps three, four and five and move to the sixth step.
  • Right click on the Microsoft folder and then click on the option New and then on the option Key. Now enter the name of the folder as Internet Explorer and then press the Enter button in the name field. 
  • Now in the same manner, right click on the Internet Explorer folder and then click on the New button and then on the Key option and name the folder as Infodelivery.
  • Create a new folder under the Infodelivery folder likewise by right clicking on the folder and then click on the New option and then on Key option and name the folder as Restrictions.
  • In the window that opens, right click anywhere in the empty space and click on the New option and then select DWORD value. Name the value as NoSearchBox and then press the Enter button.
  • Now change the data displayed under the Value Data field in the NoSearchBox value from 0 to 1. 
  • Now click on the OK button to save the changed settings and exit the Registry Editor window.
  • Now close the Internet Explorer window and then reopen it by double clicking on its icon in the desktop. You will not see a Search Bar in the application window anymore.
