Instructions To Reinstall The HP Printer
  • Disconnect the HP printer from your computer. Remove any physical connections between the printer and the computer. After that, click on the Start button and then click on Devices and Printers. Highlight the HP printer that you have to troubleshoot. Right click on its icon and click on Remove device to uninstall the device from your computer. 
  • If you have the installation disc that came with your HP printer, insert it into the CD/DVD drive of the computer. If the installation wizard does not start automatically, click on Start and then on Computer and double click on the letter that is associated with the CD/DVD drive of your computer to initiate the installation process.
  • In the first screen that appears, click on Install. This will check your computer for the required files. In the Welcome screen that appears, click on Next. If your firewall asks you for permission to run the program and not to block the HP processes, click on Next.
  • If you want to allow HP to install the software updates to your computer automatically, select the Yes button and click on Next. You will be asked if you need to install the recommended settings or if you need to select the components manually. Make your choice and click Next.
  • Accept the licensing agreement of HP and click on Next after the installer shows the destination folder of the installation files. If you want a shortcut of HP in your desktop, check the box in the next screen. Click Next.
  • Connect the HP printer to your PC with the USB cable that came with the printer. When the screen shows that the computer recognizes the printer, click on Next and restart the computer when you are prompted to do so.
  • After the computer restarts, click Finish to complete the installation process.
