Microsoft Working On A Solution To Support Third Party Xbox One Headsets

Microsoft seems to be working on its latest Xbox One console to make it more compatible with third-party peripherals, especially headsets. Currently, most gaming consoles in the market are not compatible with such peripherals. This leaves users with limited options of connecting their branded gaming console with third-party hardware peripherals. Consequently, users of such consoles are forced to buy the expensive peripherals offered by the console manufacturers. But, Microsoft wants to make Xbox One console compatible with third party peripherals.

The details about the new solution have been released to Polygon by a Microsoft Australia spokesperson. It said, "The Wireless Controller has been redesigned to allow for higher data transfer speed between the controller and the console. This also required creating a new expansion port design for headsets and future controller add-on devices which is different from a standard audio plug input."

This Microsoft chat support solution would let customers connect their wired gaming headsets to the wired controller for audio chatting and gaming purposes. In an earlier statement via its Twitter account, Microsoft support had stated that the new solution would be an adapter. It would feature higher compatibility with Xbox One console and its Kinect sensor. As a result, users would be able to enjoy increased in-game Microsoft chat features.

Additional headset would soon be available

It is also reported that users will receive a separate headset compatible with the new solution. And, the users would also get the Play and Charge kit along with the device. A report from Polygon states that the new headset included in the new compatibility solution is capable of offering crystal-clear digital wideband audio. Besides that, users could adjust volume while using the controller even without taking their hands off. Obviously, the new solution will become popular once it is released. The Microsoft support networks have been receiving hundreds of enquiries to know more about the new solution that Microsoft is working on.

Microsoft has been doing well with its Xbox One console from the very beginning. However, its exorbitant price tag leaves it unaffordable to most of the average gamers. Microsoft needs to cut down the price as well as introduce such solutions for supporting third party devices. Hope you found the information provided in this article useful.
