Close processes
  • You need to complete or close any software installation processes still active on your computer.
  • Then, you can right-click on the task bar at the bottom of your desktop, and then select Start Task Manager from the context menu.

  • Then you can look for running processes with names like setup.exe, msiexec.exe, uninst.exe, isetup.exe, ikernel.exe or IsInst.exe. For each of these processes, that you find running, click on the entry, and then click the End Process button.

You can use the re-register service
  • Then, you need to click on the Start button All Programs and then Accessories. Then, you can right-click on Command Prompt and then choose Run as Administrator.
  • After that, you need to type Msiexec /unreg into the command prompt window, and then press your Enter key to unregister the Windows Installer service.
  • You can type Msiexec /rereg, into the command prompt window and then press Enter to re-register the Windows Installer service.
  • Now try running the installer again.
