Steps To Enable Bidirectional Support In Vista

The new Windows OS, Vista comes loaded with the feature Bidirectional printing that allows the users to communicate print data across a local area network. Follow the instructions below to enable bidirectional printing on your Windows device.

Windows support instructions

Launch the Start menu. You can open the Start menu either by clicking the Windows orb placed on the bottom left corner of the home screen or by using the keyboard shortcuts. You may use the keyboard shortcut Windows key, the key labeled with the Windows icon to launch the Windows Start menu. Instead you may use the keyboard shortcut combo Ctrl + Esc to launch the Start menu.
Now place the mouse pointer in the text space in the Start menu pop up. Enter the word Printer into the text space and hit the Enter key.
This will launch the Printer and other devices management page. From the page, select icons for your printer. Right click the icon and from the dropdown, select the label that reads Delete.
Place the mouse pointer on an empty space in the window. Right click the mouse and from the dropdown, select the label that reads Run as administrator. Now, click on the label that reads Server Properties.
Navigate to the Drivers tab, select the printer you want to delete. Right click the printer you want to delete. From the dropdown, select the Remove Driver and Driver Package option.

Launch the browser. Navigate to your printer manufacturer's website and download the support driver software. Download the latest driver for your printer and save it to your desktop.
Follow the on screen prompts to install the driver software correctly.
