Instructions
  • Open Microsoft Outlook from the Start menu. You can spot the Start menu icon on the left corner of the screen.
  • Once the application loads, navigate to the left side of the Microsoft Outlook window and click on the Sent items option that lies in the Microsoft Outlook Mail Folder menu.
  • You will see the list of e-mails sent by you. Locate the e-mail you want to retrieve and double click to open it.
  • Inside the menu bar of the sent message, you will see Actions. Inside the Actions menu, locate and click on Recall This Message.
  • A new Message Recall dialog box will appear. Depending on your choice, click on Delete Unread Copies or Delete Unread Copies and Replace with New Message.
  • If you want to know who opens the original message or receive confirmation of the recall’s success, leave the appropriate boxes checked. Click OK to start the process.
  • Make changes to the original message in the new message box that appears. After you have edited to your preference, click on Send.
  • If you choose not to send any e-mail, skip the previous step. Your recipient will never realize that you had sent an e-mail in the first place.
If you followed all the instructions to the word and if the recipient has not already opened the mail, the sent mail will be retrieved successfully. Do note that this feature only works if both the sender and the recipients are on the Microsoft Exchange Server. Rather than issuing apologies and replying to lot of individual messages trying to rectify mail errors, use the feature to retrieve Outlook email.
