In this user interface, the programs and applications are shown as Tiles on the screen rather than as icons. However, the new user interface was not so well received by users all over the world as they found it rather intimidating and difficult to work with and this ultimately lead to the sales failure of the operating system. Microsoft was not able to foresee this widespread hatred against their operating system and this hatred was fueled by the difficulties people faced when they tried to customize their computers. With no Start menu button present in the Windows 8 start screen, people were not able to edit programs installed in their system.
